30 Characteristics of the cell
The cell
A cell is classified as a minimum module that forms an organism . It is the minimum organization of life that is known and they comply with the steps of relationship, reproduction and nutrition.
Cell characteristics
- It is the minimum unit of life of all living beings.
- It has autonomy and reproductive capacity .
- It is surrounded by a cell membrane whose function is to separate it from the outside.
- Some have a cell wall outside the plasma membrane.
- They have regenerative capacity.
- Each cell has a minimum intelligence level, which allows it to know the function that it must perform.
- The cell membrane is the one that surrounds the cytoplasm.
- Important metabolic processes occur within the cytoplasm .
- The genetic material of every existing cell is known as DNA.
- The nutrition process of cells is autonomous, that is, they absorb nutrients by themselves.
- All cells are nourished through substances found in the environment that they transform.
- They release energy and eliminate waste through the metabolic process.
- The process of reproduction of a cell is generated by division.
- During the process of development and growth of a cell, these can acquire sizes and shapes that differentiate them from the rest.
- The process of development and growth of a cell is rapid.
- When a cell dies, another is born to replace it.
- The difference in the cell can cause a cell to produce something that it previously did not produce.
- Cells communicate with each other.
- They are responsible for alerting the rest of the cells when there is a problem or threat in the body where they live.
- They can respond to chemical and physical stimuli.
- Cells are divided into two groups: prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
- Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus or organelles.
- The internal organization of prokaryotic cells is simple.
- prokaryotic cells are small and form a single circular chromosome.
- Bacteria and cyanobacteria are an integral part of the prokaryotic cell group.
- Eukaryotic cells have an organelle and a nucleus.
- The internal organization of these eukaryotic cells, unlike prokaryotes, are much more complex.
- Eukaryotic cells are much larger.
- They are directed by a process called mitosis.
- These cells are part of both multicellular and unicellular organisms.
