Difference Between Activation Energy and Threshold Energy
The difference Between Activation Energy and Threshold Energy is that Activation Energy is the minimum amount of energy absorbed by the reactant molecules so that their energy becomes equal to the threshold value while Threshold Energy is the minimum energy that a pair of particles must have in order to undergo a successful collision.
Activation Energy
- It is the amount of energy required for reactant molecules to convert into a product.
- It is the difference between threshold energy and the average internal energy of reactant molecules.
Threshold Energy
- It is the amount of energy at which reactant molecules are converted into products.
- It is the sum of activation energy and average internal energy of the reactant molecules.
