Plastic materials are defined as those that are composed of resin, proteins and other types of substances that make them easy to mold and that can be modified according to temperature.

The plastics are lightweight and resistant to degradation so used to distribute a large amount of products to the market.

  1. HDPE plastic: This type of plastic is one of the most used since it does not break when exposed to extreme heat or cold. This type of plastic was first used to make pipes for storm sewers, drains, and culverts. But today this plastic is used for a wide variety of products.
  2. PVC plastic: this is one of the oldest materials and it is also one of the most polluting since it contains toxins that harm health and are harmful to the environment.
  3. Polypropylene: Plastic containers made from this type of material are not very good at recycling.
  4. Polyethylene terephthalate: this type of plastic is one of the most used in all parts of the world, but only 20% can be recycled.
  5. Plastic materials such as bottles of mineral water, soda, containers of butter, custard, mayonnaise can be recycled to give them a new use.
  6. Among the plastic materials you can find a great variety such as plastic bags, plastic cups, cutlery, plates, electricity cables, detergent containers, tablecloths, toys, headphones, food containers, garbage bags, shoes or cholas, shampoo and cream containers, plastic tubes, chairs, tables, wastebaskets, jugs and glasses, pipes for the plumbing, medical articles among others. Many of these products can be recycled and put to other uses.
