What is Collision Diameter ? Definition & Examples

in this article, we have briefly narrate the term collision diameter.

[wp_ad_camp_1]

In order to do collision, the molecules approach each other. at the time of contact of the outer boundaries, there is a limit beyond which they cannot come close to each other. this is called the distance of closest approach.

the closest distance between the centers of two molecules taking place during collision is called collision diameter.

the following diagram shows that the collision diameter is equal to the sum of radii of the two particles.
