What the WHO is about
WHO, whose acronym stands for World Health Organization , is a department attached to the United Nations. Its main purpose is to manage basic policies in relation to prevention, promotion and intervention in health matters worldwide.
The constitution of the world health organization establishes in its constitution that “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not only the absence of diseases or illnesses.”
The main objective of this organization is to achieve a better and healthy future for all the people of the world. In more than 150 countries in the world there are WHO offices in order to contribute to the enjoyment and maximum degree of well-being and safety possible from the point of view of health.
origins
During its beginnings, the WHO was organized by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, thus promoting the drafting of the initial statutes of the World Health Organization. In this sense, the first meeting held by this organization took place in Geneva in 1948.
The 195 member states of WHO govern the entity through the World Health Assembly, which is made up of representatives from each of them.
Example of activities of the world health organization

- It pre-evaluates medicines so that they can be of the best quality at the time of being consumed, especially to help those countries that, due to scarce resources, cannot do it.
The WHO has been in charge from its origins to promote educational campaigns in order to contribute to the proper development and proper health of people. In this sense, the WHO has the power to decree states of health emergencies of global interest, when there is a possible risk that could affect all of humanity.
